Peach County Real Estate Market Q2 2007

Make no mistake . . . . . Peach County real estate is sharing in the growth of it’s surrounding neighbors, Bibb and Houston Counties.

With the recent trend in residential, industrial and commercial real estate growth in the southern sector of Bibb County and the northern sector of Houston County, it’s no wonder that Peach County, sandwiched between the two, is experiencing an upswing in their economic development as well. The Peach County Chamber of Commerce and Board of Commissioners have joined forces and will soon be launching a new marketing program aimed at attracting commercial growth to the area.  This is in direct response to the growth in population and the increase in the number of rooftops being added in the Peach County area,  particularly in the City of Byron.

Retailers are taking note to this growth pattern as well.  Ace Hardware, currently with a location in Fort Valley, is adding a new store in Byron on Highway 49 as well.  Some commercial investors have also stepped up and we are seeing some new small retail centers being developed in both the Byron and Fort Valley markets.  Existing retail centers are seeing an increase in interest as well.  The Peach Shops of Byron, situated at Highway 49 and I-75, has seen a significant increase in potential retail and office users.  These potential users have indicated central location, great visibility, easy accessibility to major highways and a friendly community as reasons they are looking into this market.

According to Peach County, with the continued growth in the addition of distribution centers in the southern sector of Bibb County,  and the continued growth in new housing, we expect to see a positive impact not only on retail but also in the hospitality industry as well as food and service oriented businesses.
