Retail was on the mind of over 40,000 people, the number of those who attended the International Council of Shopping Center’s 50th Annual Spring Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada from May 20ththrough the 23rd. Twelve commercial real estate agents from Fickling and Company took advantage of the opportunity and met with many national retailers and existing retail clients during the event. For the first time at the Las Vegas convention, Fickling was represented with 1,300 square feet of meeting space in the convention center. Fickling’s retail developments, as well as retail projects developed and leased for others, were featured in the meeting and conference areas of the meeting space. Many retailers, large and small, were able to review existing retail projects and future developments in detail through wallboard site plans, aerials, artist renderings, maps and information packages. All agents were especially busy this year as they found their way around the trade show floor, which has been newly expanded by over 30 percent. Fickling representatives reported successful meetings with retailers, restaurants, tenant representation clients and full-service users. Fickling’s development and acquisition teams were there to meet with retail clients regarding existing assignments and future projects. All in all, the show was a success and we are all looking forward to the next ICSC leasing show opportunity in Atlanta this fall.
