STAYCATIONS ARE JUST AS FUN AS VACATIONS

If you know where to go

Imagine this; You have some time off and want to utilize it to the best of your ability. Problem is, it isn’t enough time to travel far. If you live in Georgia there are endless amounts of things you can do within only a few hours drive. Some things might even shock you.

From beaches, to hiking to horseback riding, here are things you can do this weekend!

  • Southern Cross Guest Ranch

Southern Cross Guest Ranch is a horse farm and bed and breakfast outside Madison, Georgia. Here you can get out of the city and experience true southern hospitality. Guests here get to bond with their animal, picking him out of the pasture, and brushing him down before and after the ride.

The trail experience is a bit different here too. It’s not your normal nose-to-tail experience, and if you are an experienced rider, you can opt to go into a faster paced ride. In addition to the horses, they also offer lodging, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, games and more.

(Don’t forget to, make a stop in Madison – You find great shops and restaurants downtown.)

  • Little St. Simons Island, Georgia

Little St. Simons Island is the perfect family getaway for anyone who loves the outdoors.  A trip to Little St. Simons is more than a vacation—it’s a full immersion into nature from the 20-acre lodge to the thousands of acres of wilderness that surround it. The food is amazing and there is always a cold drink waiting on the dock.

Here they offer hiking, biking, bird watching, beach days, off roading and more. With only 32 rooms available it is sure to be a relaxing get away. Weather you bring the family and make it a bonding experience or come with friends and make good memories, there is something for everyone.

  • Georgia Mountains

Georgia has some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the south. All of them offer amazing hikes and quaint mountain towns.

Dahlonega, GA offers a family friendly environment with easy hikes, lush fields, tubing and ice cream!

Another great mountain escape lies in Blue Ridge, Ga. The fall foliage brings most people to Blue Ridge, Ga., but this mountain town is a great place to visit pretty much anytime. With cabins to lodge at, amazing restaurants, and waterfall hikes,  there is so much to do in Blue Ridge — you’ll need to come back  over and over again.

Visit Brasstown Valley Resort for a more luxurious mountain trip. Nestled in the North Georgia Mountains, this resort redefines the typical mountain getaway. You’ll get the beauty and outdoor activities without compromising the relaxing amenities of a mountain golf resort and spa. Lodging and dining, championship golf, stables, a full-service spa, and a wide range of outdoor activities for the whole family are waiting for you.
